A group of Ansar (Muslims of Medina) told the Prophet of Islam (PBUH):
O’ the prophet of Allah (SWT), we have a request from you. The Prophet (PBUH) said: What is your request? The Ansar group replied: Our request is a big one. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Let me know what it is. The Ansar group said: Our request is that you guarantee paradise for us with God. The Prophet (PBUH) lowered his head, then struck his stick to the ground a few times and raised his head and said: With one condition, I will do it for you: Do not ask anything from anyone except God. The Ansar group undertook in their lives that they do not ask anything from anyone, even to the extent that if one of them was riding on a horse and dropped his whip, did not like to ask anyone to pick it up and give it to him; rather he disembarked and picked it up himself. Or if any of them wanted a cup of water at the eating table and could not reach it, would not ask anyone for water, rather he stood up and poured water for himself from water jug [1].
