Abdullah Ibn Ya’afoor who was always ill narrated:

I complained to Imam Sadeq (AS) because of pains of my illness. Imam (AS) said: If a believer knew about the rewards which God has allocated for his/her calamities, indeed wished to be cut with scissors [1]. In another Hadith (narration), Imam Sadeq (AS) said: There is a place with God for a believer on the Day of Judgment which he/she will not attain it except in two cases; loss of wealth (financial loss) or being inflicted with a calamity (bodily loss) [2].
