The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the date of the 5th Cultural Festival of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him), which will be held in cooperation with the Department of Religious Affairs under the slogan:

(Imam Al-Baqer, peace be upon him, the keeper of knowledge and the utmost model of forbearance) on the first of the month of Rajab 1440H corresponding to 9 March 2019.

The member of the preparatory committee and deputy head of intellectual and cultural affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Mr. 'Aqeel Abd al-Hussein al-Yasiri said: "Several pre-session meetings of the Preparatory Committee and some of its committees have been held on the sidelines of the festival to put in place a mechanism for establishing this international festival, which must be commensurate with the personality for which it is established".

"The purpose of this festival is to deliver a message to all the believers, to enable them to know the characteristics of the great personality of Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) in fighting the misguided movements and confronting them at that time," said al-Yasiri.

Al-Yasiri added: "The festival will be held for one day and will include various activities and poems, in addition to morning and evening academic and Hawza research sessions."
