Ibn Majah the Sunni scholar narrated from the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) who said:

On the Day of Judgement, prophets, then scholars and then martyrs respectively, intercede (Shafa’at/Shafa’ah) in the way of Allah (SWT) [1]. In another narration, Imam Sadeq (AS) said: On the Day of Judgement, Allah (SWT) will resurrect scholar (Aalim) and the devout one (Abid), and will tell the devout one: Go towards heaven alone, but will tell the scholar: Intercede on behalf of the people you have educated [2].
