A number of visitors ask about the fate of the marble pieces removed from the floor and walls of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
Therefore, we asked the head of the Unit of Marble in the Department of Gifts and Vows; Mr. Maitham Razaq Ni'mah, who replied as follows: "Since more than a decade and along with the comprehensive urban movement of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, we decided to invest the marble pieces which was removed during the stages of reconstruction and construction and converting them to gifts, and presenting them in an artistic way to the visitors coming to perform the Ziyarat of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
Adding: "The process of manufacture of these marble pieces pass through many stages to form the beautiful design, starting from the collection, washing, cleaning and then engraving and drawing on them by specialized technical staff using CNC machine, then cutting and coloring them in various forms and sizes, in form of ring stones, necklaces and engraved wall decor."
Concluding: "The artistic pieces are bought by the visitors as a spiritual souvenirs. The money is used for the purpose of reconstruction inside the holy shrine. Some of these gifts are offered free of charge to some visitors and guests of the holy shrine."
