For the first time in the USA, the two flags of Imam al-Hussayn and of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (Peace be upon both of them) flutter in New York.
In a ceremony first of its kind in the state of New York, the delegation of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), which is there to organize and participate in an international conference in the United Nations, raised the flags of the holy domes of the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) in the Imam al-Kho'ei Foundation, which embraces the Muslim community there.
These rituals began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by a speech of the Imam al-Kho'ei Foundation delivered by the head of its branch in New York; Sheikh Fadhel al-Sahlani, in which he expressed his thanks and gratitude to the two holy shrines for this initiative.
Followed by the speech of the delegations of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Prof. Dr. Riyadh al-'Amidi, who began is by thanking the great interaction and interest of the attendees, which reflects the depth of their loyalty to their Imams (peace be upon him) by reviving the occasions of their happiness and sadness, at their forefront the grief for the tragedy of the Master of martyrs (peace be upon him).
Followed by another speech of the delegation of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine delivered by Dr. Talal al-Kamali.
Then the two flags were raised one after the other, while the followers and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) raised their hands to pray, with eyes filled with tears, recalling the tragedies of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), to start a condolence council there.
These rituals witnessed great interaction and presence from the community and from the nearby cities. Raising these flags in this remote country is a confirmation of the words of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) when she addressed her speech to Yazid (may God curse him) saying: "I swear by Allah that you shall never be able to erase our memories or wipeout our inspiration."
