A number of Russian scholars and Thai religious activists have paid a visit to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
A group of 160 professors and students from Dagestan State University of Russia visited the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and attended a religious meeting. Visiting the museum and library complex and getting more familiar with the history of the holy shrine were among the group's plans.
The head of the group, Ali Mohammad Safarov, pointed out that these people were all Azeri nationals, saying: "Visitors enjoy a feeling of calm at the holy shrine here that makes one's spirituality more God-centered."
He said that holding various programs in Azeri language by Astan Quds Razavi is a positive thing. “Performing prayers and presenting lectures in Azeri language give a chance to pilgrims to make optimal use of the spiritual atmosphere in the shrine.”
In addition, 23 members of Al Mahdi (AS) Foundation in Thailand visited the holy shrine and participated in mourning ceremonies for the demise anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Reza (AS).
The head of the group, Ibrahim Awah, said: "There are about 20,000 Shia Muslims in Thailand who live in various cities like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Sukhothai.”
After the pilgrimage to the tomb of Imam Reza (AS), the Thai group attended Friday prayers and received spiritual gifts including books and cultural products.
