Shia Muslims and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) (the Infallible Household of the Prophet (pbuh)) mourned the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Muhammad Taqi (AS) at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad.
On the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jawad (AS), the holy shrine of the Eighth Imam (AS) of Shia Muslims looked all black with mourning signs in black installed in various corners of the holy shrine.
Thousands of pilgrims had already traveled to the shrine city of Mashhad to express condolences to Imam Reza (AS) on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of his son Imam Mohammad Taqi (AS) and to participate in mourning ceremonies.
Mourners marched to the Razavi holy shrine before Maghrib and Isha (evening) prayers and spread their gratitude and condolences to their Imam on this grieving night.
The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) hosted a large number of pilgrims who had paved their way to reach this holy place from around the country to taken part in martyrdom anniversary programs for Imam Reza’s son.
The mourning ceremony of the ninth Shia Imam (AS) was held at the Razavi courtyard, and attended by thousands of pilgrims and visitors of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
In the opening part of the ceremony, Hoj. Seyyed Hossein Momeni delivered a lecture to officially kick out a special program for Imam Mohammad Taqi’s night of martyrdom, and in the second part after Maghrib and Isha prayers, Hoj. Hossein Ansarian recited Kumayl supplication.
