Positions of companions of Imam al-Hussain

Those who look closely at the positions of the supporters of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) see a lot of lofty concepts that have been most wonderfully applied and constructed in the most beautiful way, and what is the finest description that came to them from the mouth of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), when he said:

Positions of companions of Imam al-Hussain

"I do not know companions more loyal and better than my companions, neither do I know a household more honorable and passionate than my household."

For this reason, we want to be inspired by the Companions of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) who were martyred before him, through a brief drawing of a side of the immortal al-Taf tragedy.

Selflessness: a characterization that expresses the highest level of courage that breaks into the door of death without fear. This stems from two necessary descriptions that Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) stressed on to be present in those who joined him on the eve of his departure from Mecca: "..."Whoever desires to lay down his life for us and strive in the way of Allah, should come out with us, for I shall be leaving tomorrow morning, Allah willing.” He said.

As for striving in the way of Allah, it can be felt in exceptional scenes on the eve of the tenth of Muharram:

So here is Burayr Ibn Fudhayl joking with Abdul Rahman al-Ansari and laughing, and So Abd al-Rahman told him: O Burayr, do you laugh?! This is not an hour of laughter or falsehood!
Burayr replied: I never liked the falsehood, neither old nor young. But I do this because of the good tiding of what will happen to us. I swear by Allah, what is between us and the Hur in heaven, except that these people kill us with their swords, and I would have liked that they killed us now."

- And here is Habib Ibn Mudhaher coming out of his tent laughing, and Yazid ibn Hossein al-Tamimi interrupts him, saying: "This is not an hour of laughter, "and Habib replies:" What a place is more deserving of pleasure than this! By Allah, we will fight those people with our swords for an hour and then we will hug the Hur in heavens.".

As for sacrificing their souls for the sake of the ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), it was manifested in Immortal attitudes, including:

- The position of Bashir Ibn Omar al-Hadhrami, who was informed that his son "Amr" was captured by al-Daylam in the city of al-Rai, and Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) said to him:" may Allah have mercy on you, you are free from my allegiance, so go to free your son". But he replied: "may the wild animals eat me if I leave you."

- The position of Nafe' Ibn Hilal, it was reported that later on the eve of Ashura, Nafe' Ibn Hilal noticed that Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) went out of his camp, on his own, to inspect the hills around. Nafe' followed Imam (peace be upon him). When Imam (peace be upon him) noticed the presence of Nafe', he told him "Why did you come out of your camp?" Nafe' replied: "O' the son of the Prophet (Allah’s prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household)! I am worried about your life especially when you show up to this cruel army. Imam (peace be upon him) said: "I have come out to inspect the ups and downs of this field before tomorrow's war breaks", said Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). When the inspection was all done, Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) told Nafe': "Do you not want to disappear in this dark night to save your life?" Nafe' fell on Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)'s feet and replied: "I have a sword that is worth one thousand dirhams and I have a horse that is worth about one thousand dirhams. I swear to God that I would never leave you alone so long as my sword can cut". The Imam (peace be upon him) took Nafe's hand and walked back to the camps telling him: "It is, by Allah, the promise of Allah does not fail."

- The position of 'Abes Ibn Shabib al-Shakeri, who said to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him): "There is nobody on earth, near or far, is dearer to me, and whom I love the most, more than You, and if I were able to push away from you the injustice and murder with something dearer to me than myself and my blood, I would have done it".

And he marched towards the army, and they refrained from him for his courage, and Omar Ibn Saad shouted: Throw him with stones. When he saw this, he threw his shield, and fought them with greater fierce.

- The position of Sa'id Ibn Abdullah al-Hanafi, who said to Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the eve of the tenth of Muharram, "We are not leaving you until Allah knows that we protected the Messenger of Allah by you! By Allah, I shall not leave you alone unless they kill me, burn me in fire and reduce me to ashes and blew it in the air. I am ready to meet the same fate seventy times till I diminish in your support. And how can I not do that, but it is only one death or killing, and then it is the dignity that never expires".

These are only short glimpses of the selflessness of those heroes. They are men and boys who believed in their Lord, His Messenger, his guardian, and their Imam; the Master of the martyrs (peace be upon him), and the truth of his Just Cause, so they gave themselves up to death and were true to the saying of their master, Imam al-Hussayn: "Whoever desires to lay down his life for us and strive in the way of Allah, should come out with us".
