Welayat TV in India will broadcast an online seminar on June 1, the anniversary of demolition of Jannat al-Baqi’ Cemetery.

The program will also be broadcast live by 15 Shia channels on YouTube for the first time under the supervision of Welayat Foundation in New Delhi.

Clerics and elegists, including Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Qazi Askari, Hussein Mahdi Husseini, Mahdi Mahdavipur, representative of the Islamic Revolution’s Leader in Delhi, Gholam Mahdi Khan, Nethar Heidar Aqa, Mohammad Abedi, Mohammadreza Gopalpuri and Seyyed Jalal Naqawi will present speeches and perform elegies in the seminar.

Demolition of al-Baqi’ refers to the event of demolition of historical and religious graves and shrines of al-Baqi’ Cemetery by the Wahhabis of contemporary time. Wahhabis destroyed places and graves in al-Baqi' two times, once in 1220/1805-1806 and the second time in 1344/1926.

Many Shia Muslims hold gatherings, remember the event and mourn on teh 8th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shawwal which is known as Yawm al-Hadm (Day of Demolition).
