The Iraqi Shia Endowment Office has stressed the need for mourning processions to take precautionary measures against the Corona virus (Covid-19) on the nights of Muharram and the anniversary of Ashura.
According to the Shafaqna translation service, quoting Alforat News, Ahmad Al-Waeli, the director of public information of Shia endowments, said in this regard: “We are committed to preventing the spread of the Corona virus”.
He added: “We have seen the seriousness of the implementation of these recommendations by Hussaini processions, and although this years mourning ceremonies experience was different, fortunately it was positive.”
“We see mourning ceremonies that are mostly precautionary, and we hope that this situation will continue in the coming days,” he said.
