A caravan of nearly a thousand pilgrims from the Republic of Azerbaijan, with 470 of them first-timers, have paid a visit to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), enjoying cultural and religious programs organized by Astan Quds Razavi’s Office for Foreign Pilgrims’ Affairs.
“Given the financial conditions and the constraints that the government has imposed on them, many of these pilgrims endure the hardships and initiate this journey with love and after returning home, their lifestyle changes and they see Imam Reza (AS) differently,” Albrus Husseinov, the head of the caravan said.
He stated that Azerbaijan’s Shias are devotees of Imam Reza (AS) and many of them dedicate all their possessions to this Imam (AS), because they have seen many of his miracles, and he touches their hearts profoundly.
“The more cordial and spiritual connection with the Infallible Imams (AS), the better will be obedience, companionship and empathy, and no doubt this relationship will not be one-sided and their favors will include us too,” he added.
In the end, he pointed out that their trip is merely a pilgrimage one saying, “While in Mashhad, we will try to visit all the places of pilgrimage, whether in this shrine city or in the cities on the way and this is an honor.”
