Imam Reza holy shrine is holding week-long ceremonies to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with the slogan of “Blessing to Humanity”.

According to Abdolhamid Talebi, the head of Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of the holy shrine, “public ceremonies are in progress in Prophet Muhammad courtyard for a week to mark birth anniversaries of the Prophet (pbuh) of Islam and his grandson Imam Sadegh (AS)”.

“These ceremonies include recitation of the Holy Quran, explanation of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his infallible household’s life and conduct, eulogies, etc.”, he said.

Talebi added that the one-million-square-meter area of the holy shrine and the city of Mashhad had also been decorated with flowers, lighting and congratulatory billboards.

Pointing to the big “Quranic Blossoms” celebration for young children, he noted that the three-thousand-strong event was aimed at knowing the holy Prophet (pbuh) better.

“Specialized online meetings on the holy Prophet’s (pbuh) thoughts are also running with Islamic scholars and experts in attendance”, he continued.

The official concluded that Imam Reza holy shrine was also financially helping hundreds of needy families to mark the occasion.
