Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine in Mashhad is black-draped these days to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Fatima Zahra (SA), the revered daughter of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
Concurrent with the martyrdom anniversary of the most revered woman, Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine hosted thousands of black-clad mourners visiting from outside or different parts of the country.
On this sorrowful occasion, the entire shrine and its affiliated venues became black-draped; also a mourning flag was hoisted on the sacred dome. Wearing mourning scarves around their necks, the shrine servants received the mourners whole-heartedly.
Organized by Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine, the program was held after the evening prayers at Imam Khomeini (RA) portico, while a live video service covered the entire Holy Shrine venues.
The ceremony also presented sermon of Fadakiyya performed by Hoj. Mohammad Javad Haj Ali Akbari, Tehran substitute Friday Prayers leader. The Hojjatoleslam presented an elegy on the sorrowful martyrdom of the Prophet's daughter and spoke about how a Fatima-inspired religious movement contributed to the Islamic Revolution.
The bereaved mourners further observed heart-rending elegies by Ahmad Vaezi and Ebrahim Ahmadi, who specialize in the life and conduct of the Infallible Household of the Prophet (PBUH).
