This year is the eighth year that I participate in the great Arbaeen Walk pilgrimage.”
In response to ABNA’s correspondent question on his purpose of this journey, Lebanese-born Hojat al-Islam Abdul Mon’em Shararah said, “There is no purpose higher than the pilgrimage of Imam Hussain (a.s.). The highest goal of the Arbaeen journey is the pilgrimage of Hazrat Aba Abdellah Al-Hussain (a.s.).”
“This ceremony strengthens relations between Muslims from different countries,” he clarified, regarding the international results of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
“When we first invited people to attend the Arbaeen ceremony, they did not know anything about it. But after two to three years, we saw that groups of Shiites from different cities of the world attended the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Despite the dangers, they did not leave attending this ceremony. I hope this presence will expand a lot next year with the end of the Covid-19 calamity.” he said, referring to the growing presence of Shiites around the world in the Arbaeen Walk pilgrimage.
“This year, I attended the Arbaeen pilgrimage with about 50 Shiites from Canada, and there was no problem for us to participate in this ceremony. Others have a lot of respect for us Arbaeen pilgrims,” Shararah continued.
“The Arbaeen Walk has gathered everyone. In this ceremony, the differences between people have disappeared, and there is no difference between nationality and appearance of people in Arbaeen. Like the Hajj, all pilgrims are equal in Arbaeen,” he noted, At the end of the interview with ABNA News Agency correspondent in Iraq.
