A man entered Medina and asked people: Who is the most generous person in this town?

The people of the town introduced Imam Hussain (AS) to him, who not only was the most generous person in Medina but also the most generous on the earth. That man searched and found Imam Hussain (AS) in the Mosque who was performing Salaat there. He started reciting poems and said: Whoever knocks on your door, will not return disappointed; because you are generous, and forgiveness is proud of you. Everyone trusts you, and your father got rid of disbelievers, wicked and corrupt people [1]. Without showing his face to that man, Imam Hussain (AS) gave him presents which were enough for him to stop begging and said: Take these, I apologize to you, and my kindness is with you, if the stick of government was in our hand (if we had the rule of government), our sky of generosity would have poured on you. But the events of life have changed everything and my gifts are small (to you) [2].
