The engineering and technical staff of the Imam Hussain Shrine is installing the new lattice-enclosed tomb of the Martyrs (graves of those who were martyred with Imam Hussain “Peace Be Upon Them” on the Day of Ashura).
Kereem ElEmbarei, director of the Department of Maintenance at the Imam Hussain Shrine, said the lattice-enclosed tomb weighs 4 tons: 9kg of 18-karat gold, 804kg of pure silver, 2 tons of wood, 200kg of brass, and 300kg of stainless steel.
ElEmbarei added that the dimensions of the new lattice-enclosed tomb are the same as the dimensions of the old one, in addition to veined floral ornament.
It is noteworthy that the lattice-enclosed tomb has been designed, made, and presented by the board of trustees in the city of Qum, Iran.
