The families of missing Shia Muslims staged a demonstration outside the Karachi Registry of Supreme Court of Pakistan on Sunday to register protest against the enforced disappearances of their relatives.
Taking suo motu notice, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar had summoned provincial heads of intelligence agencies and Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and Inspector General Police Sindh on the issue of missing persons at the Karachi registry of the apex court of Pakistan.
Shia Missing Persons Release Committee chief Rashid Rizvi led the protesters. He and the families urged the Chief Justice and Army Chief to ensure immediate release of all Shia missing persons who are believed to have been subjected to enforced disappearance.
