The first step into the Prophet Mohammad’s Maqsurah at Masjid-ul-Nabi, the holy city of Medina, begins with the house of the prophet’s daughter Fatima al-Zahra (S.A).

On the left side is a small Bronze Zarih, inside is a wooden box covered with a piece of cloth.

Old Shia and Sunni citizens of Medina express that Ottoman Sultans built the Zarih over Hazrat Fatima al-Zahra’s tomb. However, nobody can verify that the honorable daughter of the Prophet Mohammad is lying there.

Next is Jibreel Column, it is believed that Archangel Jibreel communicated with the Prophet Muhammad and revealed the verses of the Holy Quran to him at this place.

Next is the room, which belonged to Ali ibn Abi Taleb (A.S.) and Hazrat Fatima al-Zahra. It is 11m x 4m space with a door that opens to the Rawdah.

On the left side of that tiny house is the main Maqsura or the burial chamber of the Prophet Muhammad.

His tomb is located right in the middle of the room. The Rawda or garden is regarded as one of the gardens of paradise or riyad al-Jannah.

السلام علیک یارسول الله
