In response to someone who asked for advice, Imam Ali (AS) said:

Do not be among those who are hopeful of the hereafter without any good deed, and delays repenting by having long lasting desires. And do not be of those who speak like ascetics but behave like world lovers; if (Divine) blessings reach him/her dos not get fulfilled and in deprivation finds no contentment; does not give thanks for whatever granted to him/her, and demands more from whatever is left [1].
