Azerbaijan’s Shiites mourn on Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Sadiq (A.S.)

Coincident with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.), a group of Shi’ites from Azerbaijan mourned in a gathering at the Razavi Holy Shrine.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Coincident with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Jafar Sadiq (A.S.), a group of Shi’ites from Azerbaijan mourned in a gathering at the Razavi Holy Shrine. 

Coincident with the martyrdom anniversary of the head of the Shiism, Imam Sadiq (A.S.), the lovers of the Infallible Imams (A.S.) from Azerbaijan gathered at the Dar al-Rahmah Portico of the Razavi Holy Shrine and read elegies. 

The speaker of the ceremony, then describing the scientific and ethical personality of the sixth leader of the Shi’ites said, “The character of Imam Sadiq (A.S.) was so prominent that in addition to the Shi’ites, Sunni scholars also praised his scientific and personal superiority.” 

“In his school, in addition to the Shi’ites, the leaders of other religions greatly benefited his presence and during this period many Muslims became acquainted with the school of the Infallible Imams (A.S.).” Hujjat al-Islam Hajiyef stated. 

“Imam Sadiq (A.S.) also had an effective role in expanding the culture and teachings of Islam in his 34 years of imamate, during which many universities were founded and he trained many students,” he added. 

The speaker of the ceremony argued that Imam Sadiq (A.S.) in science and knowledge excelled all and regarding the worship and sincerity and good morals resembled his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) and expressed, “The ethics and behavior, teachings and guidance of the Imam in various individual and social fields forged a brilliant era in Shi’ite history.” 

It is worth mentioning, the presentation of cultural and promotional programs, such as lectures, congregational prayers, the dedication of cultural and blessed packages and elegy reading were parts of the foreseen plans provided by Non-Iranian Pilgrims Office of Astan Quds Razavi for this group of pilgrims.
