2000 Azeri pilgrims visited Imam Reza (A.S) holy shrine

Two thousand pilgrims from Azerbaijan Republic, concurrent with the birth anniversary of Imam Reza(AS), paid a visit to the holy shrine in Mashhad to take part in the celebrations on this auspicious occasion.

In a ceremony organized by Astan Quds Razavi’s Deputy Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs, the Azeri pilgrims, in 21 caravans, took part in the celebrations, congratulating the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) to their Iranian religious brothers.

Addressing the pilgrims, Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Ameli, Leader’s representative in Ardebil province, congratulated the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) to the world Shia Muslims, saying: “The spiritual, religious, and cultural solidarity as well as friendship between the two nations of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic is always recommended. Thanks to such strong bond of friendship, all the plots of the enemies are doomed to fail.”

He placed emphasis on paying more attention to religious identity, warning Muslims against enemy plans to question the doctrine of monotheism and to cast doubt on Islam’s principles.

“To thwart these threats and various other assaults, we must boost our solidarity to manifest a real support to our religious and Islamic identity.”

The ceremony also presented special programs by experts on various fields for Azeri children such as storytelling, handiwork, and cultural competitions. Also girls named Fatemeh, Masumeh, and Zaynab received valuable gifts.

The spiritual atmosphere of the ceremony was enhanced with eulogies performed by Azeri eulogists.
